Landscape Architect

Qatar

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Landscape Architect to join our team! In this role, you will contribute to the design, supervision, and delivery of large-scale landscape projects, including high-end commercial and urban environments. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop landscape solutions that integrate plant material, irrigation systems, outdoor lighting, and hardscape/softscape features, with a particular focus on arid climates.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the design and supervision of landscape works, including plant material selection, irrigation systems, outdoor lighting, and hardscape/softscape elements.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure constructability, compliance with codes, and alignment with project requirements.
• Interpreting complex contract documents, including plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Providing technical input on the suitability of plant material for arid terrain and local environmental conditions.
• Contributing to urban landscape and public realm design, including high-end commercial landscapes and streetscapes.
• Supervising landscape construction works to ensure quality, adherence to design intent, and compliance with specifications and standards.
• Assisting in the preparation of reports, design submissions, and documents containing conceptual and illustrative elements.
• Utilizing advanced digital tools and software for design development, visualization, and documentation.
• Identifying potential issues during design and construction and proposing practical solutions.
• Collaborating effectively with project teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or an equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale landscape projects involving both design and construction.
• Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards related to landscape design, plant material, irrigation systems, outdoor lighting, and hardscape/softscape works.
• Proven ability to interpret complex contract documents, including plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and installations for constructability and compliance.
• Experience with plant material selection and design for arid terrain and climates.
• Experience in urban landscape design and supervision, including high-end commercial landscapes.
• Experience in the preparation of reports and submissions, including conceptual and illustrative elements.
• Advanced proficiency in relevant software, including Vectorworks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and contemporary digital imagery/visualization software.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to identify potential problems and propose effective solutions.
• Ability to work well within a project team comprising mixed nationalities and disciplines.
• Must have MME.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

• Certified PMP (Project Management Professional) is preferred.
• Experience in the GCC region and an understanding of its cultural heritage.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
