The qualified applicant will support the Space Warfighting Analysis Center’s (SWAC) Force Design Integration Office (FDIO) in Colorado Springs, CO, with an expectation of limited travel based on emerging priorities.  The applicant will conduct technical analysis to assess, document, communicate air, land, and sea warfighter dependencies on space architectures and operations through advanced modeling and simulation.  The candidate will collaborate with SWAC Program subject matter experts, conduct independent analysis, to ensure effective representation of dependencies in modeling software and simulation engines. Additionally, the candidate will collaborate on modeling and simulation analysis conducted across the US Space Force and supporting partners. The applicant must have a technical depth and breadth of space capabilities and systems engineering with an understanding of complex analysis and industry capabilities and best practices.  The applicant must also have extensive MS&A experience. The candidate will actively coordinate with SWAC model and simulation experts across the USG and have or develop robust familiarity with SWAC and USSF M&S tools. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Examine future warfighting concepts and mission areas to assess and document (Adversary and/or Joint) interdependencies for the purpose of enabling model-based system engineering
• Develop dependency models compatible with digital engineering software and consistent with community best practices
• Develop descriptive/mathematical/computational models to simulate how space capabilities interact with the larger DoD enterprise to include Space & Terrestrial capabilities
• Analyze input data from multiple sources to validate their use in modeling and simulation activities; Analyze simulation results and impact on the US Space Force and Joint Force operations
• Use models, simulation, and analysis to forecast the effects of red, blue & grey capabilities
• Lead Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Working Groups across the USG
• Produce Recurring products in support of Force Design Processes and Objective Force Architectures
• Enhance SWAC Program and Integration Layer analysis 
• Interface with SWAC Program technical experts and DoD analytic partners
• Articulate technical space system design recommendations and trade space decisions based on warfighting impact
• Support high-visibility space-based capability studies

Required Skills:

• STEM Bachelor’s Degree
• Strong technical background
• 10+ years space operations or space acquisition experience
• Experience with space design and/or architecture development including satellite ground systems
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling techniques
• Proficiency in using simulation software and programming languages (i.e., AFSIM, MATLAB, Python, etc.)
• Knowledge of and experience with descriptive modeling frameworks, languages, methods, and tools (i.e., Mission Engineering, DODAF, UAF, SysML, Cameo)
• Knowledge of Joint and Space Warfighting Concepts; Doctrine; and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures
• Experience with and knowledge of DoD, IC, and commercial satellite systems
• CI Poly eligibility
• Ability to travel as needed

Desired Skills:

• STEM Master’s Degree
• 4+ years Joint operational planning, integration, or requirements development experience
• 5+ years of commercial/civil space experience
• Experience working in SCI/SAP environment
• SCI and Special Access Required eligibility

Salary Range: $120,800.00 - $217,400.00
