Job Description:

ITS BIM Modeling Specialist

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for a highly skilled and experienced ITS BIM Modeling Specialist to join our Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) team. In this role, you are expected to leverage your expertise in Building Information Modeling to support and enhance our project delivery processes.  You will be required to design the ITS infrastructure (dry utility) in Civil 3D and conduct the required clash analysis and conflict resolution with other utilities.

What You'll Be Doing

• Utilize effective computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and related word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
• Manage and use the Common Data Environment (CDE) for model production.
• Utilize moderately advanced software packages associated with building information modeling specialism/discipline.
• Perform dry utilities design using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Candidates with wet utilities design background will also be considered.
• Apply advanced modeling principles and techniques to complete moderately complex assignments.
• Support the drafting of special provisions with oversight.
• Apply broad knowledge of engineering principles to modeling assignments.
• Complete model assurance reports with oversight.
• Communicate effectively with management, engineering, and production staff on modeling technical and non-technical subjects.
• Interface with other departments on matters relating to work assignments. The candidate shall be capable to perform clash analysis with other utilities and resolve the conflicts as directed by the Engineer.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Part Builder module in Civil 3D.
• Demonstrate knowledge of navigating and working with Navisworks software.
• Supervise subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
• Provide technical guidance and support the development of training materials.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Diploma in a relevant discipline.
• 6 years of related work experience.
• Certification from drafting or building information modeling software providers like Autodesk, Bentley Systems, etc.
• Proficient in Common Data Environment (CDE) usage and management for model production.
• Proficient in utilizing moderately advanced software packages associated with building information modeling specialism / discipline.
• Proficient knowledge of advanced modeling principles and their application.
• Experience with dry and/or wet utilities design using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience performing clash analysis and resolving conflicts with other utilities.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with management, engineering, and production staff on modeling technical and non-technical subjects.
