Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an experienced ICT Engineer - Aviation, ATCT to plan, coordinate, review, and technically support the ICT systems Passive and active networks for serving the ATCT and associated external areas, ensuring the systems are fit for operational use, integrated with other airport platforms, secure, resilient, maintainable, and compliant with project and authority requirements.
You will act as the focal technical engineer for all tower-related ICT systems during design, construction, testing and commissioning, handover, and early operations support. Ensuring the ATCT communication and data infrastructure is delivered to a mission-critical standard suitable for air navigation and airport operational environments. Supporting interdisciplinary coordination among ICT, ELV, electrical, mechanical, architectural, security, ATC systems, and airport operations stakeholders.
What You'll Be Doing;
- Review design documents, drawings, method statements, material submittals, shop drawings, interface matrices, and technical submissions related to ATCT ICT systems.
- Coordinate the delivery of structured cabling systems, fiber backbone, LAN/WAN connectivity, network rooms, cabinets/racks, switches/ servers configuration, network architecture, wireless services, timing/synchronization interfaces, IP telephony, operator work position data connectivity, and associated passive infrastructure.
- Monitor integration requirements between ICT systems and other airport/tower systems such as access control, CCTV, public address, voice communication systems, meteorological systems, BMS, fire alarm, UPS monitoring, and security platforms where applicable.
- Participate in technical reviews to ensure compliance with client standards, aviation authority criteria, cyber-security requirements, redundancy philosophy, maintainability needs, and operational constraints of a 24/7 critical facility.
- Review testing and commissioning procedures including FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, integrated systems testing, cutover plans, failover testing, redundancy verification, and operational readiness demonstrations.
- Support site inspections and verify that installation quality, labeling, segregation, grounding/bonding, containment, equipment placement, and as-built records meet approved standards.
- Track design and construction risks, identify interface gaps, issue technical comments, and follow up corrective actions to closure.
- Contribute to the development and review of ICT O&M manuals, SOPs, asset registers, preventive maintenance requirements, spare parts lists, training plans, and handover dossiers.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including airport operator, ATC users, digital/cyber-security teams, consultants, contractors, and authority representatives.
- Prepare technical reports, progress updates, issue logs, and engineering recommendations for management decision-making.
- Structured cabling system (copper and fiber optic backbone/distribution).
- Local area network, switching infrastructure & configuration, network cabinets, patching, and network architecture, integration, cybersecurity and physical layer management.
- ATCT data connectivity for operational systems and operator positions.
- IP telephony / voice and data interfaces supporting tower operations.
- Wireless access services where approved for operational or administrative zones.
- Server room / telecom room fit-out interfaces, racks, UPS-fed ICT loads, environmental monitoring, and cable management.
- External ICT links serving guard post, security checkpoint, perimeter/fence interfaces, parking/ancillary facilities, and inter-building communications, as applicable within the project scope.
- Integration touchpoints with security, ELV, and digital airport platforms.
What Required Skills You'll Bring;
- Bachelor’s degree in ICT Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics / Communications Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in ICT engineering, preferably within airports, air navigation facilities, transportation, mission-critical buildings, or other high-availability infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience in design review, site supervision, testing and commissioning, and handover of ICT systems.
- Good knowledge of structured cabling, fiber systems, IP-based networks, telecom rooms, redundancy concepts, and interface management.
- Airport, aviation, or critical-facility project experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience of active and passive network infrastructure, fiber optic systems, LAN/WAN architecture, rack layout, patching, and network resilience concepts, network architecture.
- Knowledge of ICT installation practices, containment coordination, grounding/bonding interfaces, room data layouts, and equipment accommodation requirements.
- Working knowledge of testing tools and practices for copper/fiber certification and network connectivity validation.
- Awareness of cyber-security coordination requirements for operational technology and airport systems environments.
- Ability to interpret project specifications, standards, interface control documents, risk registers, and testing protocols.
