Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team! In this hybrid role, you will contribute across the full software development life cycle—from UI/UX design to back-end architecture, implementation, and verification testing—supporting mission-critical applications. You will help deliver scalable, secure, and elegant solutions in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
This position allows for a hybrid schedule and may require candidates to be local or be willing to travel to the Maryland, Northern Virginia, or DC Metro area for occasional on-site collaboration.
What You'll Be Doing:
Design, build, and maintain scalable front-end interfaces and back-end services.
Optimize performance for both UI responsiveness and data processing workflows.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
Conduct peer code reviews and ensure unit, integration, and regression test coverage.
Collaborate with UI/UX designers, system architects, program managers, and stakeholders.
Ensure robust authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.
Apply Agile/SAFe methodologies and maintain clear documentation of codebases and processes.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret clearance and ability and willingness to obtain a TS/SCI.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (or 4 years of additional experience in lieu).
8+ years of experience in software development with both front-end and back-end technologies.
Strong programming skills in a few of the following: Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, and SQL.
Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Python (Flask, FastAPI, Django) and other modern frameworks.
Expertise in containerized application development and management. Preferably with a strong familiarity of Docker & Kubernetes, including deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications, as well as troubleshooting and optimizing workloads within a cluster.
Proficiency with RESTful API design, data visualization, database architecture (SQL/NoSQL), and version control (Git).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible).
Experience with front-end frameworks and responsive design principles.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and infrastructure as code (IaC).
Strong debugging and performance optimization skills for distributed systems.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS , or message-driven architectures.
Familiarity with GraphQL, WebSockets, and modern data service protocols.
Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and tools (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible).
Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, encryption, and secure coding techniques
Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
Strong communication skills for conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.
