Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Field Engineer – Civil to join our team! In this role you will get to play a critical role in ensuring the quality and compliance of all civil construction activities for the airfield project. With a strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and standards, this position offers a vital opportunity to contribute to the successful and timely delivery of aviation infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing;

• Conduct routine and special inspections of ongoing civil works, including runway and taxiway pavements, drainage systems, duct banks, grading, and subbase layers.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and project quality standards.
• Prepare daily inspection reports documenting progress, non-conformities, and corrective actions.
• Inspect delivered materials to verify compliance with technical specifications and approvals.
• Monitor workmanship to ensure alignment with project standards and safety practices.
• Coordinate and witness testing (e.g., compaction, concrete slump, core sampling) performed by third-party laboratories.
• Work closely with site contractors, consultants, and quality control teams to address and resolve technical issues.
• Support in reviewing method statements, ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), and ensure that proper inspection procedures are followed.
• Raise and track NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and follow up on corrective measures.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, field observations, and photographic documentation.
• Assist in preparing progress reports, inspection checklists, and site logs.
• Support in the compilation of As-Built drawings and handover documentation.
• Enforce compliance with site safety protocols, especially in restricted and high-risk airfield zones.
• Ensure all inspections are conducted in accordance with ICAO, FAA, or local civil aviation authority requirements.
• Participate in safety audits and toolbox talks related to civil works execution.
• Review shop drawings and support design clarifications on-site.
• Provide input on constructability and recommend solutions to technical challenges.
• Attend progress and coordination meetings with contractors and stakeholders.

What Required Skills You'll Bring;

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction and field inspection, with at least 2 years on airfield or aviation infrastructure projects.
• Practical experience in runway/taxiway construction, grading, concrete paving, and drainage works.
• Knowledge of airfield construction standards (ICAO, FAA, ASTM).
• Familiarity with quality inspection processes and material testing procedures.
• Proficient in using inspection tools, civil engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D), and Microsoft Office.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, outdoor site environments.
• Certification in QA/QC or Construction Supervision (e.g., PMP, QC Engineer Certificate).
• Familiarity with aviation safety and operational procedures in active airfields.
• Knowledge of construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera).
• Experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to interpret topographic surveys and geotechnical reports.
