Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a talented Environmental & Sustainability Manager to join our team! In this role you will lead the environmental and sustainability strategy for a major development program in Qatar, ensuring that all project activities comply with environmental regulations and align with international sustainability standards and best practices.

As Environmental & Sustainability Manager, you will oversee environmental compliance, sustainability frameworks, and green building initiatives while coordinating closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver environmentally responsible and sustainable development solutions.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead the implementation of the environmental and sustainability strategy across the development program.

• Develop and oversee Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and sustainability action plans aligned with project requirements and regulatory frameworks.

• Ensure compliance with local environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and international best practices.

• Lead environmental impact assessments and develop mitigation strategies for environmental risks and impacts.

• Manage environmental monitoring programs to ensure compliance with permitting requirements and environmental regulations.

• Oversee sustainability initiatives including energy efficiency strategies, water conservation programs, and sustainable material selection.

• Coordinate with design and engineering teams to integrate sustainable design strategies and environmental performance targets into project planning.

• Manage sustainability certification processes including GSAS, LEED, Estidama, BREEAM, or equivalent frameworks.

• Review and coordinate sustainability-related design submissions including energy modeling, material selection, and environmental documentation.

• Interface with regulatory authorities and stakeholders on environmental compliance, permitting, and sustainability reporting.

• Support environmental audits, compliance reviews, and site inspections to verify adherence to environmental management plans.

• Lead sustainability reporting activities including carbon footprint assessments, lifecycle assessments, and waste management strategies.

• Support the implementation of sustainable development programs such as adaptive reuse strategies, public realm sustainability initiatives, and circular resource management practices.

• Prepare environmental and sustainability reports, dashboards, and presentations for project leadership and client representatives.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related science or engineering discipline; Master’s degree preferred.

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in environmental management and sustainability leadership.

• At least 5 years of experience in a PMCM, PMC, or client-side role on large-scale infrastructure or mixed-use developments.

• Demonstrated involvement in sustainability certification frameworks such as GSAS, LEED, Estidama, or BREEAM.

• Proven experience delivering projects in Qatar or the GCC region, particularly on large-scale development programs.

• Strong knowledge of environmental compliance processes, sustainability assessments, accreditations, and green building certifications.

• Experience leading environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies.

• Strong understanding of Qatar environmental regulations and sustainability practices.

• Knowledge of local environmental regulations, MOECC permitting requirements, and sustainability compliance processes.

• Experience developing and monitoring Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and Sustainability Action Plans.

• Experience coordinating sustainability reviews related to energy modeling, material selection, and environmental performance criteria.

• Proficiency in sustainability reporting platforms such as GSAS or equivalent internationally recognized tools.

• Experience preparing carbon footprint baselines, waste management frameworks, and lifecycle assessments.

• Experience driving lifecycle-focused sustainability programs including adaptive reuse, public realm enhancement, and social sustainability initiatives.

• Strong leadership, reporting, and stakeholder coordination skills with the ability to present environmental performance metrics and sustainability strategies to project leadership.
