Job Description:
Parsons is anticipating the need for an Environmental Lead to join our team and support on a complex infrastructure project on-site in Dublin. In this role, you will lead environmental and sustainability engineering activities, ensuring environmental commitments and project sustainability objectives are delivered consistently across design and construction.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead environmental disciplines, including technical sustainability efforts, ensuring carbon and circular economy principles are implemented.
Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability commitments and all related obligations.
Manage overall environmental outputs and provide oversight of contractor environmental deliverables.
Define methodology, resources, and deliverables for additional environmental studies.
Review contractor environmental plans to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Support development of environmental solutions during design.
Identify environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Maintain strong understanding of relevant environmental legislation and standards.
Ensure compliance with environmental management system requirements.
Lead and mentor a team of environmental engineers.
Ensure documentation meets technical and functional requirements.
Provide design assurance and specialist technical input as required.
Prepare regular reports and support project planning and control processes.
Coordinate with sustainability functions to ensure alignment.
Perform additional duties as required.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
15+ years’ experience in environmental management within large, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
Experience implementing and managing project controls and report writing.
Strong technical environmental expertise.
Experience in quality assurance processes.
Minimum Level 8 degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related discipline.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Knowledge of environmental specifications and standards (BS, EN, IS).
Understanding of railway or major infrastructure systems.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
BREEAM AP or BREEAM Infrastructure Assessor certification.
Lead ISO Auditor, Six Sigma, or Lean certification.
Chartered status (CEnv, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent).
Note: This position is contingent upon project award and future funding. This exciting new opportunity is planned to commence in Spring 2026.
