Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electrical Field Engineer - Saudi National to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee and support the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems on large-scale airport projects.

This position requires hands-on involvement in the field, close coordination with contractors and project teams, and the ability to solve technical issues quickly while ensuring all work is completed safely and to the highest quality standards.

What You'll be Doing;

  • Assist in the on-site supervision of electrical system installations, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, backup generators, and electrical control systems.
  • Ensure that electrical installations comply with project specifications, design drawings, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate and communicate with the construction team to ensure electrical work is executed smoothly and on schedule.
  • Conduct testing of electrical systems, including continuity testing, load testing, insulation resistance testing, and functional checks.
  • Assist in the commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring that all systems are fully functional and meet performance standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during testing or commissioning to ensure system functionality and reliability.
  • Monitor electrical installation work to ensure it meets quality standards and is compliant with relevant electrical codes and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, NFPA).
  • Conduct inspections and verify that all electrical components are installed according to the approved design and manufacturer specifications.
  • Work with contractors and subcontractors to address any quality issues, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Serve as a point of contact for electrical field issues, providing support and guidance to the construction team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in regular meetings to discuss progress, resolve issues, and ensure coordination among various disciplines, including mechanical, civil, and structural teams.
  • Provide daily updates on electrical work progress, challenges, and any deviations from the original plan.
  • Identify electrical issues on-site and provide solutions to address them, minimizing delays and ensuring continued progress on the project.
  • Collaborate with the design team to resolve discrepancies between design specifications and actual site conditions.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues related to electrical installations, such as wiring, connections, and system integration.
  • Ensure all electrical work adheres to safety standards and regulations, including local electrical codes and OSHA requirements.
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols on-site, including the proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
  • Participate in safety audits, conduct safety briefings, and report any safety concerns to the project manager.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities, including inspection reports, test results, and work completion logs.
  • Ensure that any changes or modifications to the electrical system are documented and communicated to the appropriate project stakeholders.
  • Provide regular progress reports on electrical work, highlighting milestones, delays, or issues that may impact the project schedule.
  • Assist in training junior engineers and on-site personnel on electrical installation, safety standards, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Support the development of a collaborative and effective field engineering team by sharing knowledge and expertise.

What Required Skills You'll Bring;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications in electrical systems or commissioning are a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 2 years in a field engineering or construction role on large infrastructure projects, preferably in the airport or commercial sector.
  • Hands-on experience with the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and control systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and circuits.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, NFPA) and their application to infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, insulation testers, load banks) and tools.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve electrical problems on-site quickly.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with contractors, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Certifications related to electrical systems or safety (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E) are an advantage.
  • Familiarity with airport electrical systems, including lighting systems, runway lighting, and other specialized infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of project management software or tools to track progress and manage documentation.
  • Safety training and certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR, OSHA 30-hour).
