Parsons is seeking an exceptionally talented Electrical Engineer to join our construction supervision teams on major infrastructure and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) programs. In this role, you will support the Resident Engineer in all technical, supervision, and coordination aspects of electrical systems, ensuring full compliance from design review through installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
What You'll Be Doing:
You will be responsible for supervising contractors delivering HV and LV power distribution, lighting, substations, and electrical systems supporting ITS, traffic signals, and associated infrastructure, in accordance with contract documents, authority regulations, and international standards:
Supervise and review electrical design inputs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and installation works.
Review and recommend approval of shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and testing & commissioning plans.
Supervise installation of HV/LV power distribution systems, substations, lighting systems, and power supplies for ITS and traffic systems.
Conduct routine site inspections to verify workmanship, quality, safety, and authority compliance.
Witness factory and site acceptance testing, energization, and commissioning activities.
Coordinate with telecom, civil, ITS, and other disciplines to ensure system integration.
Manage punch lists and support final testing, commissioning, and handover.
Review as‑built drawings, O&M manuals, and final project documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise electrical system installation, testing, and commissioning.
Review and approve electrical load demand calculations and power network designs
Ensure compliance with DEWA, ADDC/ADWEA, local Civil Defense, and other relevant authorities.
Verify cable sizing, short circuit, load flow, and derating calculations.
Monitor site safety and implementation of corrective actions.
Attend technical meetings and prepare reports and correspondence.
Provide technical guidance to inspectors and junior engineers.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in the UAE or Gulf region.
Strong knowledge of HV/LV power distribution, substations, lighting design, and electrical calculations.
Experience with electrical design and analysis tools such as Dialux, AGi32, and Amtech.
Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, BS standards and local authority regulations.
Understanding of ELV/ITS interfaces including traffic signals, CCTV, SCADA, and related systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil3D, or similar design tools.
Experience liaising with authorities for electrical power approvals and NOCs.
Strong coordination, communication, and documentation skills.
Registration with DEWA and approvals from DM/RTA are considered an advantage.
