The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience delivering large-scale airport or airfield electrical works in compliance with aviation authority and airport standards.
What You’ll Be Doing:

- Verify installation workmanship, materials, and methods comply with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant electrical and aviation standards.
- Identify, document, and track non-conformances, coordinating corrective actions with contractors and project teams.
- Review electrical design drawings, load calculations, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications related to cargo apron electrical systems.
- Evaluate contractor shop drawings, method statements, and temporary power arrangements for compliance with design intent and safety requirements.
- Review technical submittals for equipment such as transformers, switchgear, panels, GPUs, FEGP systems, and apron lighting components.
- Provide technical comments, approvals, and recommendations in coordination with design consultants and project management.
- Provide on-site electrical engineering support during construction, installation, and testing of cargo apron electrical systems.
- Interpret electrical drawings and resolve field issues, coordinating with civil, AGL, and systems teams to ensure proper interfaces.
- Support testing, commissioning, and energization of electrical systems in operational or restricted airside environments.
- Coordinate daily with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to align electrical works with cargo apron construction schedules.
- Participate in site meetings, technical workshops, inspections, and coordination sessions with airport authorities.
- Ensure clear communication of technical requirements and electrical safety practices across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE requirements, electrical safety rules, and airside work permits.
- Identify hazards related to live electrical systems, night works, and operations within restricted cargo apron areas.
- Support implementation of safety controls in accordance with airport safety management systems (SMS).
- Maintain accurate inspection records, engineering review logs, test results, and snag lists.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports covering electrical construction and engineering review activities.
- Review and approve electrical method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), material submittals, and technical queries.
- Oversee testing and commissioning of cargo apron electrical systems including insulation resistance testing, functional testing, and system integration.
- Coordinate with stakeholders for power energization, operational readiness, and handover activities.
- Ensure completion of as-built drawings, test certificates, and operation and maintenance manuals.
- Ensure electrical works comply with ICAO, FAA, IEC, IEEE, airport authority standards, and local electrical codes.
- Support audits, inspections, and approvals by airport authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Verify contractor compliance with approved designs, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior electrical engineers and inspectors.
- Promote consistent application of engineering, quality, and safety standards across cargo apron electrical works.
- Foster a collaborative, safety-driven team environment.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering design review, construction supervision, or inspection on airport or airfield projects.
- Proven experience delivering cargo apron electrical systems, including power distribution and apron equipment interfaces.
