Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Structural Engineering to lead our structural design efforts on the groundbreaking THE LINE project at NEOM. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the world's most ambitious and innovative urban developments. The ideal candidate will possess 25+ years of extensive experience in structural engineering design, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex, large-scale projects.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and direction for all structural engineering activities related to THE LINE project.
Lead and manage a large team of structural engineers, ensuring technical excellence, collaboration, and professional development.
Oversee the structural design, analysis, and documentation for a variety of complex structures within THE LINE, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and innovation.
Drive the development and implementation of advanced structural engineering solutions to address the unique challenges and requirements of THE LINE.
Collaborate effectively with other disciplines, including architecture, civil engineering, and construction management, to ensure seamless integration of structural systems.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of structural engineering deliverables.
Serve as the primary point of contact for structural engineering matters with the client, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
Ensure the implementation of Parsons' quality control processes and procedures to maintain the highest level of design quality.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in structural engineering technology, materials, and design methodologies, and promote their adoption within the project.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent is required.
Minimum of 25 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design, with a significant portion of that experience on large-scale, complex projects.
Extensive experience in the design of high-rise buildings, long-span structures, and/or other complex structural systems.
Deep understanding of international codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ACI, AISC, Eurocodes).
Proficiency in advanced structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, ANSYS).
Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of engineers.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
Experience working on projects in the Middle East is highly desirable.
Familiarity with sustainable design principles and practices.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with advanced structural materials (e.g., high-strength concrete, composite materials).
Knowledge of seismic design and analysis.
Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software (e.g., Revit).
Familiarity with modular construction techniques.
