After a 40-year Parsons career our Practice Leader has retired.

 Need

Are you a leader who’s successfully delivering major highway projects for ODOT and KYTC?  Do you like using your business development savvy and operations management skills to implement strategies for business growth & performance?  If so, Parsons is seeking a Practice Leader to grow our Civil and Structures work in Ohio and Kentucky.

As a Practice Lead for Parsons, you will be responsible for the strategic & operational direction of a very diverse, world-class team, including the management of profitable growth, client development and driving excellence in project delivery.  Additional responsibilities include leveraging key accounts, closely coordinating and collaborating across business lines while providing innovative leadership.  The successful candidate will mentor and develop an established group delivering bridge, tunnel, rail, aviation and highway infrastructure programs in both Ohio and Kentucky.  Our Practice Lead must be an effective “seller/doer”, able to balance business development, operational management, and project management responsibilities simultaneously.

We have an established management and project delivery team that will support leadership initiatives and business imperatives in both Traditional and Alternative Project Delivery methods.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Create a challenging professional environment of innovation, opportunity, development and continuous improvement that supports company’s objectives
  • Develop strategic initiatives and business plans for the area that align with the overall goals of the region and sector
  • Successfully win and manage complex and major projects within the operational and strategic framework.
  • Recruit, retain and develop top industry talent.
  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement through innovation, creative thinking and improved results.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and productive work relationships with all employees, clients and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistency in project quality, budgetary constraints and expectations and that appropriate monitoring and control mechanisms are developed and administered.
  • Enhance the organization’s profile and reach across the Ohio and Kentucky area.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Civil Engineering or related technical/business field.
  • 20+ years of managing diverse infrastructure projects with a track record of successful project delivery on large projects.
  • Capable of managing a project, pursuit or program valued up to $500 million in total installed cost.  
  • Demonstrable experience meeting operational business goals and strategizing on market development.  Experience must include P&L ownership and the ability to meet or exceed sales, operating profit & margin, and DSO targets.
  • Able to foster collaboration across multiple market sectors and business lines including our Rail, Aviation, Industrial, and Federal Solutions groups
  • Experience leading and participating in business development activities.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio and Kentucky, with considerable experience in the Ohio and Kentucky Markets.

Salary Range: 

$149,900.00 - $269,800.00
