Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a sharp DevSecOps Engineer to join our growing Mission Solutions team!

We have an exciting opportunity for you located in beautiful Boulder, Colorado -- The TAP Lab is the U.S. Space Force’s premier Remote Sensing application development laboratory, with an extensive computer and network infrastructure and physical facilities that provide a complete computing environment, at multiple levels of data classification (https://boulderlab.org/). This position is onsite only; expected hours M-F 0800-1700. Some periodic travel between Boulder and Aurora expected for planned deployments.

This role is 60% in office in Boulder, CO, with 1-2 days of remote work per week.

What You Will Be Doing 

  • Establish the DevSecOps environments used by the software and systems engineering teams to develop and deploy applications & services 
  • Configure and manage the suite of applications that enable pipelines and workflows within DevSecOps environments 
  • Analyze and maintains system performance such as server stress and ensures efficient resource usage 
  • Collaborate with software application developers and engineers to configure and troubleshoot applications and pipelines 
  • Help deploy and maintain multiple Kubernetes clusters
  • Coordinate tasks between development and operations teams 
  • Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs 
  • Testing and evaluating new software capabilities 
  • Assisting with the onboarding of new development teams 
  • Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications 
  • Manage the deployment, maintenance, and upgrade processes of software applications 
  • Work closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts 
  • Automation of security controls 
  • At the technical level, the DevSecOps engineers must be able to work in a specific environment: Gitlab, Docker, Java, Python, Scripting YAML

What Required Skills You'll Bring: 

  • Active Secret DoD Security clearance, with the willingness and ability to obtain (and/or maintain) a Top Secret security clearance is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or additional years of experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, DevSecOps, or full stack development 
  • Skilled with at least one programming language 
  • Experience with Unix scripting (bash, tcsh, ksh) 
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the full software development cycle 
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure) 
  • Experience with Orchestration, provisioning, and containerization
  • Experience with CI/CD (e.g. through Jenkins or Gitlab CI) 
  • Experience using software engineering tools, such as Git, Bitbucket, and Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence 

 

What Desired Skills You Might Bring: 

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Experience with software scanning tools such as Grype or Artifactory XRay 
  • Linux foundations knowledge 
  • Ability to engage on multiple concurrent efforts that will each be a different stage of the assessment and evaluation cycle 
  • Ability to participate in cross functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of system engineering and integration activities 
  • Active container monitoring experience with Prisma Cloud Compute or similar products 
  • Experience with the design and development of software applications or algorithms for data management, processing, analysis and/or visualization 
  • Experience supporting software system subject matter expertise in an aerospace or space systems environment 
  • Security+ certification 
  • Linux+ certification
  • SQL (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite)

Salary Range: 

$104,200.00 - $182,400.00
