Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Design Manager – Fire, Life & Safety to join our team! In this role you will get to be the primary technical interface and coordination authority for all fire, life, and safety (FLS) matters across the Logistics Sector.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage appointed FLS consultant engagements through their full lifecycle — including scope management, program tracking, and commercial close-out
  • Verify that consultant deliverables meet the required quality, completeness, and timeliness standards before formal acceptance
  • Serve as the primary coordination interface between Client development and project teams, the Client's appointed FLS consultant, design consultants, and general contractors on all FLS-related matters across the Logistics Sector
  • Facilitate and chair regular FLS coordination meetings across all active projects within the Logistics Sector, maintaining clear action logs, decision records, and issue trackers
  • Proactively identify and resolve conflicts, gaps, or misalignments between FLS requirements and design or construction activities, escalating unresolved issues through appropriate program governance channels
  • Coordinate FLS inputs across multi-discipline design meetings, BIM reviews, and 3D coordination workflows to ensure fire and life safety requirements are embedded at every stage.
  • Coordinate responses to Client's-appointed FLS Consultants and GDCD queries and comments in collaboration with the FLS consultant and design teams, ensuring timely resolution and resubmission where required

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in fire protection engineering, fire safety management, or design management roles with a strong FLS focus
  • Demonstrated experience on large-scale, complex built environment projects; experience on logistics/industrial facilities, mixed-use developments, entertainment venues, or giga-projects is strongly preferred
  • In-depth working knowledge of NFPA Standards, Saudi Building Code (SBC), Civil Defense requirements, and applicable international fire safety codes
  • Proven experience coordinating multi-party FLS design and contractor interfaces in a program management or client-representative context
  • Demonstrated experience managing regulatory submissions and approvals processes through GDCD and the Saudi Civil Defense framework
  • Experience drafting and managing consultant task orders, service orders, or scope-of-service agreements, including review of consultant invoices and deliverable verification
  • Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD with a minimum of 5 years' design-stage experience; proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe Acrobat for drawing review and mark-up
  • Familiarity with document management platforms; Aconex experience is an advantage
  • Registered Fire Protection Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) equivalent is strongly preferred.  Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) or eligibility to obtain SCE registration is required to practice in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
  • Relevant professional certifications such as NEBOSH Fire Safety, IFE membership, or CFPA equivalent are highly desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are highly desirable

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Strong design management and multi-party coordination skills; experienced in managing interfaces between consultants, contractors, and client teams simultaneously
  • Clear and confident communicator — able to engage technical specialists, contractors, regulatory authorities, and senior client stakeholders with equal effectiveness
  • Commercially aware, with a structured approach to managing consultant scopes, deliverables, and claims
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail; strong critical thinking and issue resolution ability
  • Ability to balance technical rigor with practical, program-conscious problem-solving
  • Self-motivated and delivery-focused, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams under pressure
  • Committed to fostering a strong fire safety culture across the program
