Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Deputy Practice Lead to join our team! In this role you will get to be a key EMEA regional point of contact and support the discipline lead for the practice area considering both business development and project delivery. The position will be key in the development of execution strategies for new PMC proposals and will bring innovation to Parsons and the market in general. The position will support key clients in the region and make significant public impact as we grow our world class capabilities.
- Supports PMC pursuits across EMEA taking Technical Lead role as and when necessary.
- Participate in strategic pursuit reviews, (red/gold/green) and EPR’s as required.
- Act as SME for PMC pursuits in support of the sectors, helping to develop execution strategies and alternative delivery strategies to Parson’s pursuits and to the market in general.
- Support ongoing development of the Project Management Framework (PMF) for the consistent deployment and implementation of PMC and PMO projects in the EMEA region.
- Support development of overall PMC Practice and Guidance.
- Support PM Training and Development Program
- Support and administer the EMEA PM Community of Practice.
- Ability to stand in, on rare occasion, for Project Directors for short term assignments (at specific client request):
- Must be capable of managing a project or program min. value $200m-$500m.
- Provide input and support for every phase of large projects or programs to ensure on-schedule completion within budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Prior experience must include significant project management or construction management assignments at the Principal Project Manager level.
- Relocation to the job site may be required for short-term support.
- Undertake/ support Strategic reviews of live projects and where necessary support Project recovery initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing:
Travel around Europe and the Middle East region is expected in support of project start-ups and permanent relocation within the region may be required upon a designated Program Director major program assignment. This is a high-profile technical leadership position.
As Deputy PMC Practice Lead:
Key responsibilities of the Deputy Practice Lead will be People, Process and Technology, as well as Project Delivery.
People:
- Act as a regional point of contact for that technical Practice for both BD and Sectors. Responsible for reputation management and leadership of the Practice Area.
- Be aware (number and capability) of the staff in region that align with the Practice – this includes support an employee matrix mapping.
- Support regional mobility of high potential staff in the Practice Area.
- Support the Sectors Leads in developing the strategy and the growth or contraction of that Practice in their Geography.
- Support all major PMC pursuit developments, red reviews and president reviews as required.
- Be a technical leader (SME) and mentor where appropriate.
- Identify the key individual within the Practice to support external interaction for Marketing and Sales/BD.
Process:
- Support, drive, design and delivery process / procedure improvement and standardization across the region, including PMF, plus initiatives and strategies for PMC.
- Look at continual improvement of our processes and procedures associated with the Practice.
- Ensure seamless integration of Practice processes with all elements, integrating the adoption, innovation and alternative delivery approaches.
Technology and Innovation:
- Ensure that the technical teams in all geographical locations are aware of the current associated technologies associated with PMC.
- Promote current and future technological trends within the Practice area.
- Identify internal innovation and prompt the inclusion of these in daily activities for the Practice to drive continual improvements in efficiencies and profitability. Aware and promote Parsons Technologies associated with the PMC Practice.
- Provide leadership for technology initiatives applicable to the advancement of the PMC Practice.
Project delivery
- Assist the Sectors in improving the project delivery of the existing projects by ensuring the People, process and technology reflect Parsons best practice and that the PMO/ PMC projects are being delivered successfully.
- Be part of a regional start-up team by fast starting key PMO/PMC projects within the region, to assure that they are set up correctly from the start and the Parsons processes are embedded in the DNA of the project.
- Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution and assist the Business development team in securing the larger PMC and PMO projects within the region.
- Assist in conducting project reviews for the sectors for projects in difficulty.
Experience and Qualifications
Minimum 20 Years Project Management experience, working with a major Project Management Consultancy.
Experience of PMC, PMO, PMCM and Delivery Partner Organizations.
Desirable:
Experience of working for International Contractor or Client Organization
Held the position of Project Director or Senior Project Manager on major programs across the Middle East and/or internationally.
Degree in Engineering or similar subject
Membership of Professional Project Management organization
