  • Drive data quality improvement efforts, including validation routines, reconciliation processes, and standards for data completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with program managers, engineers, financial analysts, and technical staff to understand analytic needs, refine requirements, and prioritize work.
  • Document analytical methods, data definitions, calculation logic, and reporting standards to ensure clarity, maintainability, and consistency.
  • Conduct advanced analytics to assess performance against benchmarks and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and review for dashboards, reports, and analyses developed by team members.
  • Support planning and coordination of analytics-related tasks within broader projects and programs, including timelines, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Mentor junior analysts, foster an analytical culture, and help institutionalize best practices in reporting, visualization, and analytics.

Typical Assignments:

  • Designing and maintaining performance dashboards for program and portfolio management, including KPIs tied to capital projects, asset management, and operational metrics.
  • Leading cross-system data consolidation initiatives, integrating data from SAM, FSMS, and other systems into analysis-ready datasets.
  • Developing and refining benchmark and trend analyses to support leadership reviews and strategic planning.
  • Reviewing analytics products for methodological rigor, accuracy, and alignment with standards.
  • Preparing executive-level presentations that clearly summarize performance, key findings, and recommendations.
  • Coordinating with technical teams to ensure underlying data pipelines and models support the analytics roadmap.
  • Supporting periodic reporting cycles and ad hoc data calls, ensuring timely and accurate responses.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field., or equivalent work expeience.
  • 8+ years of experience working within DHS or DoD environments.
  • 8+ years of hands-on data analytics experience, including KPI development, dashboarding, and performance measurement.

  • Strong background in data modeling, data structures, and relational concepts.
  • Proficiency with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) and data preparation tools (e.g., Power Query, SQL).
