Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Contract Lead to join our team! In this role you will get to manage the complete contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and ensuring the compliance of contracts.
This position is critical for protecting the organization’s interests, ensuring adherence to legal requirements, and maintaining positive relationships with external and internal stakeholders. Strong contract management, negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively manage risk are essential to success in this role.
What You'll be Doing;
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, client contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
- Ensure that all contracts are legally sound, align with organizational objectives, and comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Review contract terms and conditions, ensuring clarity and minimizing potential risks to the organization.
- Lead contract negotiations with clients, vendors, and partners to reach mutually beneficial terms while protecting the company’s interests.
- Work closely with legal teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies during negotiations.
- Resolve any disputes or issues arising during contract negotiations in a timely and effective manner.
- Oversee the administration and management of existing contracts, ensuring that all parties meet their obligations and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of all contracts, amendments, and renewals, ensuring that all documents are up to date and easily accessible.
- Ensure that all contractual obligations are tracked and met, including performance reviews and contract renewals.
- Identify and assess risks associated with contracts and implement strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and organizational standards throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Work closely with the legal team to stay updated on changes in laws or regulations that may impact contracts and advise the organization accordingly.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including project managers, finance, procurement, and senior leadership, to ensure contracts meet operational requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to departments regarding contract terms and obligations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all contract-related inquiries and concerns within the organization.
- Monitor contract performance to ensure that both parties meet their obligations as stipulated in the agreements.
- Conduct periodic contract reviews to assess performance, compliance, and the need for any changes or amendments.
- Address any issues or breaches in contracts promptly and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve them.
- Review and suggest improvements to current contract processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay current with industry trends, contract management best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure the organization’s contracts remain competitive and compliant.
- Provide training and support to internal teams regarding contract management processes and best practices.
- Advise internal stakeholders on contract interpretation, dispute resolution, and legal requirements as needed.
What Required Skills You'll Bring;
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or legal qualifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management, legal, or procurement roles
- Strong experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts in a corporate or project-based environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing the end-to-end contract lifecycle.
- In-depth knowledge of contract law, regulations, and industry-specific standards.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex contract terms to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and mitigate risks in contracts.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
- Professional certifications in contract management or procurement (e.g., CIPS, NCMA).
- Experience with international contracts or multi-national companies.
- Knowledge of specific industry regulations or compliance requirements (e.g., construction, IT, healthcare).
- Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and supporting various business units.
