Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Specialist – Electrical to join our team! In this role you will get to play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of electrical infrastructure for an airport project. This role requires technical expertise, a hands-on approach in the field, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, safe, and regulation-compliant work.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in working within complex, high-stakes construction environments.
What You'll Be Doing;
- Supervise the installation and commissioning of airfield electrical systems including airfield ground lighting (AGL), approach lights, signage, duct banks, and cable networks.
- Ensure all electrical work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Liaise with contractors and internal engineering teams to verify and validate construction activities.
- Interpret and apply engineering drawings and technical specifications related to electrical systems.
- Coordinate with design, civil, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into overall construction activities.
- Provide technical support during site inspections, issue resolution, and testing phases.
- Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure adherence to project requirements and regulatory codes (ICAO, FAA, IES, IEC, or local standards).
- Identify and rectify non-conformities in the field in collaboration with QA/QC and safety teams.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all electrical works for audits and future reference.
- Support the development and tracking of work schedules related to electrical works.
- Coordinate with planning and cost control teams to provide inputs on progress, delays, or productivity issues.
- Participate in progress meetings and prepare status updates as required.
- Ensure that all electrical works are executed with the highest regard for safety and environmental compliance.
- Promote a culture of safety among subcontractors and site personnel.
- Address any unsafe practices immediately and escalate critical issues as necessary.
- Interface with client representatives, consultants, and contractors to resolve site-level technical queries.
- Ensure smooth communication across teams to support timely and accurate project execution.
- Assist in managing inspections and approvals from authorities or external stakeholders.
What Required Skills You'll Bring;
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction, preferably within airport or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in installation and commissioning of airfield electrical systems including AGL, CCRs, and runway lighting.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations applicable to airfield infrastructure.
- Proficiency in reviewing shop drawings, redlines, as-built documentation, and technical reports.
- Experience with testing and commissioning protocols for high- and low-voltage systems.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills in a multi-disciplinary, multi-contractor environment.
- Familiarity with construction documentation, inspection procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
- Certification in Electrical Safety, QA/QC, or relevant project supervision.
- Knowledge of international airfield lighting standards (e.g., ICAO Annex 14, FAA AC 150/5340).
- Experience working in joint venture or large infrastructure programs.
- Basic proficiency in construction management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, or site inspection apps).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities under schedule-driven environments.
