Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee all on-site construction activities for the Airport Development Project, ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of construction processes and regulations.
What You'll Be Doing;
- Develop and implement detailed construction plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
- Coordinate all on-site activities, ensuring that construction progresses in line with the overall project schedule and quality standards.
- Work closely with engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient execution of construction activities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all construction-related matters between internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and clients.
- Communicate project status, issues, and risks to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Ensure that all parties involved are aligned on project goals, milestones, and deliverables.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to quality standards, ensuring that all construction work meets or exceeds project specifications.
- Ensure all construction activities are compliant with local regulations, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Implement and manage a robust system for inspecting and testing construction materials and methods.
- Foster a safety-first culture on the construction site, ensuring that all activities comply with the company's safety policies and local regulations.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, addressing any risks or safety concerns immediately.
- Implement environmental management strategies to minimize the impact of construction activities on the surrounding environment.
- Lead and supervise a team of construction professionals, ensuring high levels of performance and productivity.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the on-site team, ensuring effective collaboration and problem-solving.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure that the team is equipped with the necessary resources and training.
- Monitor and manage the construction budget, ensuring that costs are controlled and expenditures are tracked accurately.
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices and purchase orders, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with the project budget.
- Address any budget deviations by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Oversee the procurement of construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Ensure contracts are negotiated and managed effectively, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company policies.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure that all necessary materials are delivered on time and within budget.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all construction activities, including progress reports, safety inspections, and quality control measures.
- Provide detailed reports to senior management regarding the status of construction activities, including any challenges or delays.
- Ensure proper documentation of all contractual agreements, change orders, and project modifications.
What Required Skills You'll Bring;
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects, preferably in the aviation or airport sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong experience in project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
- Expertise in construction methods, contract management, and project scheduling.
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project).
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, environmental policies, and construction standards.
- PMP, LEED, or other relevant certifications in construction management are highly desirable.
- Experience in managing airport construction projects or infrastructure projects of similar scale.
- Familiarity with the latest construction technologies and project management tools
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve construction challenges on-site in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- A demonstrated ability to manage and motivate diverse teams, ensuring high performance and effective collaboration.
