Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee all aspects of temporary buildings and facilities for the project, ensuring their design, construction, and operation align with project goals and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and a detailed understanding of temporary facility construction, ensuring that the project runs smoothly while maintaining safety, quality, and budgetary controls.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead the planning and design of temporary buildings, site offices, and worker facilities.
- Ensure that temporary facilities meet the project requirements and comply with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to finalize facility designs.
- Oversee the construction and installation of temporary buildings and facilities on-site.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery and installation of temporary structures, including site offices, rest areas, and storage units.
- Ensure all temporary facilities are built to the required specifications and meet safety and functionality needs.
- Manage site logistics, including the placement and transportation of temporary structures and materials.
- Ensure that construction sites for temporary buildings are properly prepared, including ground leveling, access routes, and necessary utilities (e.g., water, electricity).
- Supervise the movement and setup of construction equipment required for the facilities.
- Monitor construction practices to ensure that temporary buildings and facilities comply with all safety standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect workers and visitors on-site.
- Perform regular safety audits to ensure adherence to regulatory and company safety standards.
- Develop and manage budgets for the temporary buildings and facilities aspect of the project.
- Oversee the procurement of materials and ensure that resources are used efficiently.
- Provide regular updates on budget performance, identifying any potential cost overruns or savings.
- Ensure that temporary buildings and facilities are constructed with high quality and are fully functional.
- Perform inspections during and after construction to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and client expectations.
- Resolve any issues related to the construction quality or safety of temporary structures.
- Lead a team of site managers, contractors, and construction workers focused on the setup of temporary buildings and facilities.
- Conduct regular meetings to track progress, resolve issues, and align teams on project goals.
- Foster a collaborative environment with various stakeholders involved in the temporary facility construction.
- Ensure ongoing maintenance and functionality of temporary facilities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate repairs and adjustments as needed, ensuring facilities remain in safe, operational condition.
- Provide regular updates on the status of temporary buildings and facilities to senior management and project stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure the timely completion of all facilities.
- Address any concerns or feedback regarding temporary infrastructure from project teams or workers.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, OSHA) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction, with a focus on temporary buildings or facilities management.
- Proven experience managing construction projects, including the setup of temporary structures.
- Experience in site preparation, logistics, and managing construction teams.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and resolve issues on-site.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and communicate with stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Certifications such as PMP, OSHA, or other construction management-related qualifications.
- Experience with large-scale construction projects and the management of temporary infrastructure.
- Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety standards in the construction industry.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong business acumen with a focus on cost optimization and resource management.
