Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Director to join our team! In this role you will lead the delivery of complex infrastructure and public realm works. This includes overseeing the construction of large-scale water treatment plants (WTPs), pumping stations, substations, and extensive utility diversions. The role demands strategic leadership, technical expertise, and stakeholder coordination to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project execution.
What You'll Be Doing:
Develop and implement the overall construction strategy, phasing, and execution plan for the district.
Lead and manage all construction activities across the district, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
Review and approve construction methodologies, temporary works, and logistics plans to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance.
Manage procurement and contract administration in collaboration with commercial and legal teams.
Drive the implementation of digital construction tools (e.g., BIM, CDE platforms) to enhance coordination, reporting, and quality control.
Monitor and enforce compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and sustainability goals.
Lead regular site inspections, progress reviews, and technical audits to ensure adherence to design intent and specifications.
Support the resolution of technical issues, claims, and disputes in collaboration with legal and commercial teams.
Mentor and develop the construction management team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Represent the construction function in executive-level meetings, providing strategic input and updates to senior stakeholders.
Oversee contractors and consultants involved in the delivery of public realm and utility infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Coordinate with design, engineering, and project management teams to resolve construction challenges.
Manage construction sequencing and logistics for complex utility diversions and infrastructure installations.
Monitor progress and performance through KPIs, reporting regularly to senior leadership.
Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including government entities, utility providers, and community representatives.
Implement risk management strategies to mitigate construction-related risks.
Drive innovation and sustainability in construction practices.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 25 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure and public realm construction.
Proven track record in delivering complex utility projects including WTPs, pumping stations, and substations.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies, contract management, and regulatory compliance.
Experience working in high-profile or government-led development programs is a plus.
PMP or similar certification is advantageous.
