Job Description:

Compensation Consultant – Broad-Based
Parsons is seeking a talented Compensation Consultant to drive excellence in our broad-based compensation programs and processes. This individual contributor role will support both day-to-day broad-based compensation operations and strategic initiatives, ensuring our compensation practices remain competitive, compliant, and effective. The position also serves as a key partner in leveraging technology platforms (MarketPay, JDXpert, Workday) to deliver high-quality compensation solutions.

We are looking for a motivated professional who is ambitious, self-directed, inquisitive, and resilient—someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume, dynamic environment. This role offers a blend of recurring responsibilities and project-based initiatives, requiring strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to influence across diverse business groups.

This position reports to the Senior Compensation Manager and is remote/virtual.

What You'll Be Doing:

MarketPay / Payscale Administration

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the MarketPay/Payscale platform.
  • Manage benchmark jobs, update the survey library, and validate data accuracy.
  • Partner with survey vendors, oversee the annual MarketPay migration, and manage user setup, access, and training.
  • Conduct ad hoc pricing and market analysis for new and existing roles.

Job Descriptions & Program Support

  • Lead job description reviews in collaboration with HR partners and managers.
  • Create and review new job descriptions with HR partners and managers.
  • Manage compensation program activities, including salary survey job matching, data submission, and market analysis for executive and non-executive roles.
  • Prepare and deliver training on compensation tools and processes (e.g., MarketPay, JDXpert, new job creation).

Compensation Operations & Analysis

  • Support compensation compliance efforts (e.g., Federal business requirements), job and FLSA analysis, M&A integration, and ad hoc compensation studies.
  • Deliver compensation reporting and analytics to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the compensation team to identify process gaps, recommend automation enhancements, and improve efficiency and quality controls.
  • Provide support for compensation-related projects and initiatives as needed.

What Skills and Qualifications You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in compensation.
  • Hands-on experience with MarketPay/Payscale or similar compensation benchmarking tools, ideally as a system administrator or primary point of contact.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate insights clearly to HR partners and business leaders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adaptable across diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships across an organization.
  • Professionalism, accountability, and resilience, with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
  • High attention to detail and strong time management skills, including project planning and deadline management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Workday experience preferred.
  • CCP certification or progress toward certification preferred.
