Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Commercial Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to leading the development and execution of commercial strategies, managing client relationships, and overseeing contract negotiations to drive business growth and profitability.

This role will work closely with senior leadership, project teams, and external stakeholders to ensure that commercial activities align with the organization’s strategic goals. Strong negotiation skills, financial acumen, and the ability to manage multiple projects will be key to success in this role.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with the company’s business goals and objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and areas for growth.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to define and refine the company's commercial vision and roadmap.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Act as the main point of contact for commercial inquiries, ensuring that client expectations are met, and contracts are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and ensure that services or products are tailored to meet those needs effectively.
  • Oversee and manage the preparation, negotiation, and execution of contracts, ensuring that terms are favorable and aligned with business objectives.
  • Work closely with legal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in all commercial agreements.
  • Monitor contract performance to ensure the business is delivering on its commitments and managing any disputes that may arise.
  • Prepare and manage the commercial budget, ensuring that financial targets are met.
  • Conduct financial analysis of potential projects, including cost estimates, revenue forecasts, and profit margin analysis.
  • Work with the finance team to track the financial performance of commercial activities and report on key metrics.
  • Lead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, both within existing markets and through the exploration of new markets.
  • Conduct market research to identify new clients, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to drive sales and increase revenue through strategic partnerships and new business initiatives.
  • Identify potential risks within commercial agreements and projects, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices in all commercial activities.
  • Monitor market conditions and legal changes to ensure that the business remains compliant and competitive.
  • Lead and manage a team of commercial professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve business objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on results and client satisfaction.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills of the commercial team.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of commercial activities.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on commercial performance, including revenue generation, profit margins, and client satisfaction.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize commercial strategies and improve operational efficiency.

What Required Skills You'll Bring;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, MCIPS) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial management, business development, or related fields.
  • Proven track record in contract negotiation, business strategy, and financial management.
  • Strong experience managing client relationships, developing commercial strategies, and driving business growth.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and financial forecasting.
  • In-depth knowledge of market trends, competitor analysis, and business development strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to manage complex commercial issues.
  • Proficiency in commercial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Professional certifications in commercial or procurement management (e.g., MCIPS).
  • Experience in contract management, including legal terms and conditions.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in managing cross-functional teams.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to align commercial activities with broader organizational goals.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and client needs.
