Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil Lead to join our team! In this role you will get to manage and oversee all civil engineering activities on the Airport Development Project.

This includes the design, execution, and quality control of roads, utilities, drainage systems, and other infrastructure works. The Civils Lead will play a critical role in ensuring that all civil works meet the highest quality, safety, and regulatory standards while contributing to the overall success of the project.

What You'll Be Doing;

  • Lead and oversee the design and execution of all civil works on-site, including roads, utilities, pavements, drainage systems, and site preparation.
  • Ensure that all civil engineering designs comply with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable civil engineering solutions for the project.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the civil engineering team, including coordination with contractors, suppliers, and other project teams.
  • Ensure the civil works are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of civil construction activities, ensuring effective use of resources and alignment with the project schedule.
  • Monitor all civil engineering works to ensure compliance with the quality control plan and engineering specifications.
  • Perform regular site inspections and audits to verify that civil works are performed in accordance with the highest standards.
  • Address any non-conformities and implement corrective actions to maintain the quality of the work.
  • Ensure all civil engineering works comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, minimizing risks to workers, the public, and the environment.
  • Lead the implementation of safety protocols on-site, ensuring that all civil works are performed safely and in accordance with the safety plan.
  • Monitor environmental impacts and work to minimize disruption during construction.
  • Develop and manage the budget for civil engineering works, ensuring that costs are controlled and project objectives are met.
  • Monitor resource allocation for civil works, including labor, equipment, and materials, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively.
  • Work with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment required for civil works.
  • Provide regular progress updates to senior management and project stakeholders, highlighting any issues or challenges related to civil works.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, project teams, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on civil engineering activities.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations on civil engineering activities for senior management and external parties.
  • Identify potential risks related to civil works, including site conditions, material procurement, and construction methods.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure that civil works progress without delays or safety incidents.
  • Ensure that all changes in scope or design are properly documented, with the impact on cost, schedule, and resources assessed.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of civil engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, ensuring that team members work together effectively to meet project goals.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to improve the skills and efficiency of the civil engineering team.

What Required Skills You'll Bring;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 5-7 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience managing civil works in large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the transportation or aviation sector.
  • Strong experience in overseeing the construction of roads, drainage systems, utilities, and other civil infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and design standards.
  • Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project).
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly in construction.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in airport infrastructure or similar large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) or other advanced construction technologies.
  • Experience in managing project budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team to deliver civil engineering works efficiently.
