Job Description:

Ready to put your skills to work on Technical or Engineering projects? Are you great with people and have willingness to work hard to get the job done? Parsons is seeking a candidate with a desire to enhance the fabric of our community.

Parsons has a position open for a Civil Engineering Technologist to prepare municipal servicing, grading and drainage design, engineering layouts and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge. This position can be located in our Ottawa or Montreal office (and/or remotely anywhere in Ontario or Quebec).  Experience with Civil 3D and/or MicroStation is essential. Experience with other AutoDesk and Bentley products (OpenRoads Designer, ProjectWise) will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Interprets and ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Understands and utilizes more advanced software to complete assignments.
  • Produce conceptual and detailed drawings of diverse municipal infrastructure and demonstrate basic experience in the following areas: municipal roads, underground linear infrastructure included water facilities, sanitary sewers, storm/water drainage systems, grading and drainage, culverts, new land/site developments and upgrading of existing facilities.
  • Works closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems.
  • Ensures compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Reviews supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings, as required.
  • Checks orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
  • Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Performs design and quantity calculations.
  • Be able to use Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Revu 2019.
  • Utilizes AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation or OpenRoads to perform various design work.
  • Participates in discussions with technical and engineering personnel, reviewing development issues reported to assist in resolving issues.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.


Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology or related field (or equivalent related training/certification if applicable) and typically 2+ years experience.
  • Bilingual English/French is not required but is preferred.

L’expérience avec d’autres produits AutoDesk et Bentley (OpenRoads Designer, ProjectWise) sera considérée comme un atout. Relevant du gestionnaire de notre département de conception d’infrastructures municipales, le candidat recherché offrira le soutien technique aux ingénieurs dans le cadre de projets de complexités variés et pourra mettre en pratique diverses procédures d’exploitation normalisées et/ou des méthodes d’ingénierie.

Responsabilités :

  • Interpréter et assurer la conformité aux normes et codes applicables, ainsi qu’aux politiques et procédures de l’entreprise.
  • Comprendre et utiliser des logiciels pour la production des livrables.
  • Produire des concepts et des dessins détaillés de diverses infrastructures municipales et démontrer une expérience de base dans les domaines suivants : routes municipales, infrastructures souterraines comprenant l installations d’aqueduc, d’égouts sanitaires, de systèmes de drainage des eaux pluviales et des eaux usées, nivellement et drainage, ponceaux, conception de nouvelles installations et modernisation d’installations existantes.
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les ingénieurs de diverses disciplines pour assurer la coordination des systèmes de conception.
  • Assurer la conformité aux facteurs de sécurité de conception, aux tolérances et aux spécifications requises.
  • Examiner les données des fournisseurs ainsi leurs dessins au besoin.
  • Vérifier les dessins orthographiques (2D) et/ou isométriques (3D) préparés par d’autres.
  • Effectuer des procédures de vérification appropriées à la discipline et assignées par le superviseur immédiat.
  • Effectuer des calculs de conception et de quantité.
  • Être en mesure d’utiliser Microsoft Office Suite et Bluebeam Revu 2019.
  • Utiliser AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation ou OpenRoads pour effectuer divers travaux de conception.
  • Participer à des discussions avec le personnel technique et d’ingénierie, en examinant les problèmes de développement signalés pour aider à résoudre les problèmes.
  • S’acquitter à d’autres responsabilités associées à ce poste, le cas échéant.

Qualifications :

  • Diplôme d’Études collégiales en technologie du génie civil ou dans un domaine connexe ou formation / certification équivalente et plus de 2 ans d’expérience.
  • Le bilinguisme anglais/français n’est pas obligatoire, mais sera considéré comme un atout.
