Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a reliable and motivated Chainman to support our surveying team in infrastructure construction supervision. The Chainman will be responsible for assisting with on-site measurements, setting out survey points, and supporting the surveyor in all surveying activities for roads, tunnels, bridges, utilities, and other infrastructure works.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assist in measuring and marking points, lines, and levels for construction activities.

• Help the survey team with setting up and operating surveying equipment such as tapes, chains, and total stations.

• Carry out field measurements for roads, tunnels, utilities, and other infrastructure projects.

• Take accurate and detailed notes of measurements, dimensions, and locations.

• Help transport, set up, and maintain surveying equipment.

• Ensure survey markers and reference points are clearly visible and accurately positioned on-site.

• Collaborate with the Surveyor and other team members to ensure smooth and accurate field operations.

• Maintain safety standards on-site and ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Chainman or in a similar field role, preferably in infrastructure construction projects.

• Basic understanding of surveying equipment and techniques.

• Ability to read construction drawings and follow instructions.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

• Good physical stamina to assist with field measurements and site work.

• Ability to work well as part of a team and follow safety protocols.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

• Previous experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects in the GCC region.

• Familiarity with modern surveying equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS systems).

• Basic knowledge of survey calculations and field data collection.
