Job Description:

****To qualify for this role, you must be able to deploy and be on long-term assignment on Kwajalein Island in the Marshall Islands.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Performs essential carpentry tasks required in the construction and renovation of housing units. The incumbent must exercise good interpersonal and technical skills while adhering to required safety standards and building codes.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Constructs, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.
• Follows blueprints, building plans, and sketches to meet the needs of clients.
• Measures, cuts, and shapes wood, plastic, and other materials.
• Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks and props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Adheres to safety regulations.
• Inspects and replaces damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
• Assists in the installation of windows, doors, cabinetry, and other fixtures.
• Works directly with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to review plans and make recommendations for improvements.
• Assists in coordinating specific project schedules by working with other carpenters, laborers, and required construction resources. Reviews and verifies materials to ensure conformance to project specifications.
• Serves as part of a functional team or works independently to complete assignments according to scheduled deadlines.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position, as appropriate.

• Project Manager, Supervising Carpenter

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

•  10+ years of related work experience in carpentry, including framing, installation, and finishing.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of hand tools and power tools
• Accuracy, attention to detail, consistency, and clarity in conformance with required job duties and safety standards.

Physical Requirements:

• Physically must be able to lift up to 75 pounds to overhead position.
• Must be able to push and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. 
• Able to work dayshift or nightshift. 
• Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather condition.
• Ability to Relocate: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.

Salary Range:

$15.68 - $71.30
