Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented BIM Specialist to join our team!
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the implementation of BIM processes and standards across the project.
- Develop, coordinate, review, and maintain multidisciplinary BIM models.
- Ensure BIM deliverables comply with the approved BIM Execution Plan (BEP), EIR, project standards, and information requirements.
- Review BIM models for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance.
- Coordinate models from different disciplines and identify potential design and construction conflicts.
- Perform multidisciplinary model federation and clash detection.
- Review and manage clash detection reports and coordinate resolution with relevant disciplines.
- Coordinate with Design Consultants, Contractors, and Engineering teams to resolve BIM-related issues.
- Support development and maintenance of BIM workflows, standards, templates, libraries, and project content.
- Maintain model naming conventions, coordinates, levels, grids, classifications, parameters, and model structures.
- Ensure correct model versioning and information exchange procedures are followed.
- Support BIM model audits and quality assurance activities.
- Monitor Level of Development / Level of Information requirements for project deliverables.
- Review model information against approved drawings, specifications, and design requirements.
- Coordinate BIM submissions and ensure deliverables are issued through the approved Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Support BIM information exchange between project stakeholders.
- Maintain BIM issue registers, model review logs, clash reports, and coordination records.
- Provide BIM technical support to engineering and construction teams.
- Support model-based design reviews and coordination workshops.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and technical workshops.
- Identify opportunities to improve BIM processes, efficiency, and data quality.
- Support integration of BIM models with project schedules, cost information, GIS, and asset management systems where required.
- Assist in developing 4D / 5D BIM applications where applicable.
- Support digital construction and model-based progress monitoring.
- Ensure BIM information is properly maintained throughout design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Support preparation of final as-built BIM models and asset information deliverables.
Airport / Infrastructure & Airfield Responsibilities
- Manage BIM coordination for airport terminals, buildings, airfield facilities, infrastructure, roads, utilities, and external works.
- Coordinate BIM models for runways, taxiways, aprons, roads, drainage, utilities, and other infrastructure.
- Support multidisciplinary BIM coordination between architectural, structural, MEP, civil, infrastructure, and specialist aviation systems.
- Coordinate BIM interfaces between terminal buildings and airfield infrastructure.
- Support BIM coordination within complex and congested airport environments.
- Identify spatial conflicts between existing infrastructure, utilities, new construction, and proposed works.
- Support construction sequencing and access planning using coordinated BIM models.
- Coordinate BIM requirements for phased construction and operational airport constraints.
- Support BIM deliverables associated with testing, commissioning, handover, and asset management.
BIM Model Coordination
- Federate discipline models into coordinated project models.
- Conduct clash detection using approved BIM coordination platforms.
- Categorize clashes and assign actions to responsible disciplines.
- Track clash resolution and verify closure.
- Coordinate model exchanges between consultants and contractors.
- Ensure models use the correct project coordinates, shared coordinates, grids, and levels.
- Monitor model health and identify duplicate, missing, or incorrect information.
- Ensure model elements are correctly classified and contain required information.
BIM Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular BIM model audits.
- Verify compliance with BIM standards and project requirements.
- Review model geometry, data, naming, parameters, coordinates, and file structure.
- Monitor compliance with BEP and information delivery requirements.
- Identify recurring BIM quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support BIM quality reporting and performance monitoring.
- Ensure BIM deliverables are suitable for downstream construction and asset management use.
BIM & Construction Coordination
- Support site teams through BIM-based construction coordination.
- Provide coordinated models for construction planning and execution.
- Support identification of constructability issues through model reviews.
- Coordinate temporary and permanent works within BIM environments where required.
- Support integration of construction sequencing and installation requirements into BIM models.
- Coordinate with Planning teams for 4D schedule integration where applicable.
- Support field teams with model-based technical information and visualization.
Digital Handover & Asset Information
- Support development of BIM deliverables required for commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate as-built BIM models with Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, and Asset Management teams.
- Ensure asset information is complete, accurate, and aligned with project information requirements.
- Verify required asset parameters and data are incorporated into final models.
- Support integration of BIM information with CAFM / IWMS / Asset Management systems where required.
- Ensure final BIM models are properly reviewed, approved, and transferred through the CDE.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, BIM, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in BIM coordination, BIM management, digital engineering, or multidisciplinary BIM delivery.
- Strong experience working on major construction, infrastructure, airport, or multidisciplinary projects.
- Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models throughout design and construction phases.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent BIM platforms.
- Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, model auditing, and information management.
- Strong understanding of BIM Execution Plans, EIR, CDE, model standards, and information delivery requirements.
- Knowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM information management principles is preferred.
- Experience with 4D / 5D BIM is an advantage.
- Experience with airport / airfield BIM projects is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering and construction interfaces.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
