Job Description:

BIM Modeler – ITS 

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for a BIM Modeler – ITS to join our Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) team! In this role, you will support the design and coordination of ITS and dry utility infrastructure using BIM tools and standards, working closely with engineers and other disciplines to deliver high‑quality, coordinated models and drawings for transport and infrastructure projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Designing ITS infrastructure (dry utilities) in Civil 3D under the supervision of the Senior Engineer.
• Developing and updating BIM models and associated drawings in alignment with project standards and BIM execution plans.
• Using and managing Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms for model production, coordination, and documentation.
• Applying dry utilities design using AutoCAD Civil 3D; candidates with wet utilities design background will also be considered.
• Using software packages and workflows associated with the BIM discipline/specialism to produce coordinated and accurate models.
• Applying a variety of modeling principles, techniques, and analyses to improve design quality and project outcomes.
• Performing clash analysis with other utilities and disciplines and resolving conflicts as directed by the Engineer.
• Interfacing with other departments and disciplines to coordinate work assignments and ensure model alignment across the project.
• Demonstrating effective computer skills, including proficient use of Microsoft Windows, word processing, spreadsheet, and related software.
• Communicating effectively (both verbally and in writing) on technical and non‑technical subjects related to modeling and coordination.
• Providing technical guidance and support to junior staff as required.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Diploma in a relevant discipline from a reputable and accredited institution.
• 3 years of BIM experience on infrastructure projects such as roads, highways, utilities, or ITS.
• Proven experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for utilities design and 3D modeling (dry utilities as a minimum).
• Proficient computer skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and related software (e.g., Word, Excel).
• Knowledge and practical experience in the usage and management of Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms for model production and coordination.
• Proficiency in software packages and workflows associated with BIM for infrastructure and utilities.
• Demonstrated ability to perform clash analysis and coordinate with other disciplines/utilities.
• Knowledge of, and ability to apply, various modeling principles, techniques, and analyses to support design development.
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written) in technical and non‑technical subjects.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Certification in drafting or BIM software from providers such as Autodesk, Bentley Systems, etc.
• Experience working specifically on ITS or transportation infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, tunnels, or corridors with ITS assets).
• Experience in wet utilities design and modeling using Civil 3D or similar tools.
• Familiarity with BIM standards, BIM execution plans, and coordination processes on large multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience performing clash detection and coordination using tools such as Navisworks or similar.
• Ability to support the preparation of BIM documentation, reports, and model deliverables.
