Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) Engineer to join our team!

Candidates must be local to the DC/MD/VA area or willing to relocate.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support AFC System Logistics to include system reengineering and logistics.
• Engineering hardware and software to improve testing, monitoring, and control of AFC systems.
• Test Fare Products and document test procedures and results.
• Perform Operational Testing of the system and document of test procedures and results.
• Perform Regression Testing of Software and documentation of test procedures and results.
• Perform testing to verify corrections to issues on Master Issues List and documentation of test procedures and results.
• Submit Test Plan Documentation.
• Support Field Installation and Field Testing.
• Assist with AFC System troubleshooting, management, operations, reengineering, upgrades, and logistics.
• Assist engineers with installation and operation of advanced testing tools.

Background and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field,
• 10+ years of experience in transit engineering or related field;
  Over 3 years of software engineering, fare collection system, system testing or equivalent experience
• Experience with public transit fare collection systems.
• Demonstrated experience with Evaluation, selection and application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for projects with complex features.
• Experience with Collaborative use of judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments and oversight of small projects or portions of larger projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or the equivalent education and experience.
• Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCS-DSS) experience.
• Experience with Nextfare 5 and other Cubic systems.

Salary Range: 

$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
