Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Attractions Subject Matter Expert to join our team! You will report to the Program Management Consultant (PMC) in this role.

What You'll Be Doing:

Attractions Development and Management:

  • Oversee the design, development, and operation of various indoor and outdoor attractions, ensuring they align with the luxury brand of the destination.
  • Collaborate with design teams to implement attractions such as hiking trails, zip lines, stables, mountain coaster tracks, skyline luge, and adventure parks.
  • Lead and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (engineers, designers, environmental consultants) to ensure all attractions meet safety, environmental, and design standards.
  • Ensure the visitor experience is engaging, immersive, and meets the highest standards of luxury.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with key stakeholders, including the client, lead consultants, contractors, and local authorities, to ensure alignment on attraction development.
  • Advise and oversee design ensuring local authorities permits can be achieved, particularly for environmentally sensitive areas and wildlife conservation zones.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for attractions, providing guidance to the PMC and client during planning, design, and execution phases.

Project Execution and Coordination:

  • Coordinate with various departments (engineering, construction, and operations) to ensure timely delivery of attractions from concept design through to completion.
  • Lead the design review process and provide expert input during the design of key attractions such as wellness centers, meditation zones, VR experience centers, and mountain swings.
  • Manage contractors responsible for specific attractions, ensuring compliance with design and operational guidelines.

Operational Planning:

  • Plan and implement strategies for the smooth operation of all attractions, including visitor flow management, attraction safety protocols, and high-end service delivery.
  • Develop operational manuals, guest service protocols, and safety procedures for each attraction.
  • Ensure attractions are designed with future operational needs in mind, facilitating ease of maintenance and guest services.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibility:

  • Ensure all attractions are developed and operated following the highest health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Integrate sustainable practices into the design and operation of attractions, particularly for natural attractions like hiking trails, zip lines, and mountain experiences.
  • Lead risk assessments for adventure-related attractions (e.g., skeet shooting range, zip line) and coordinate safety drills and training.

Financial Management:

  • Monitor the financial aspects of attraction development, including budgeting, cost tracking, and contract management.
  • Contribute to the attraction's financial viability by ensuring design and operational efficiency without compromising guest experience and safety.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 18 years of experience in managing luxury attraction projects, with a focus on both indoor and outdoor experiences.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering attractions, including wellness centers, adventure parks, national park visitor experiences, and other high-end leisure facilities.
  • Strong understanding of the health and safety regulations related to adventure activities such as zip lines, mountain coasters, skeet shooting, and mountain swings.
  • Expertise in project management within a PMC framework, with a strong ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design and operational practices, particularly for natural and mountain-based environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging with clients, regulatory authorities, and contractors.
  • Financial management experience related to attractions budgeting, costing, and financial reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Management, Leisure & Tourism, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Equivalent experience in PMC or in Project Delivery roles for attractions.
  • Experience working in high-end, culturally or environmentally sensitive locations, with a focus on luxury tourism development.
