Job Description:

Parsons are seeking a highly experienced Airfield Technical Advisor to provide expert guidance and oversight on the design, construction, and commissioning of airfield infrastructure within a landmark aviation development project.

This role ensures that all airfield systems—pavements, lighting, markings, drainage, navigational aids, and fueling systems—are designed and delivered in accordance with international aviation standards. The ideal candidate brings extensive technical knowledge in airfield systems and operations, with prior experience supporting large-scale airport or military airbase developments.

What You'll Be Doing;

  • Review and validate design and construction methodologies for runways, taxiways, aprons, and other airside infrastructure.
  • Provide technical input to ensure compliance with ICAO, FAA, EASA, and/or GACA standards.
  • Assess constructability, maintainability, and safety of proposed airfield solutions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, planning, and construction teams to align airfield requirements with project delivery.
  • Advise on phasing, access, and interface planning between airside and landside operations.
  • Oversee quality control of key airfield components such as pavements, markings, lighting, and airfield ground lighting systems (AGL).
  • Support the development and execution of commissioning strategies for airfield systems.
  • Ensure that lighting, navigational aids, fueling systems, and drainage are tested and validated for operational readiness.
  • Provide input on operational procedures, safety zoning, and emergency access.
  • Engage with airport operators, civil aviation authorities, air traffic services, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Represent technical interests during design reviews, site inspections, and handover meetings.
  • Support training and handover documentation for airfield systems.

What Required Skills You'll Bring;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Aviation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the design, construction, or oversight of airfield infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of airport planning, airside operations, and technical standards.
  • Deep knowledge of ICAO Annexes, FAA Advisory Circulars, GACA regulations, and relevant military or NATO standards.
  • Familiarity with airfield systems including AGL, signage, drainage, fueling, and navigational aids.
  • Ability to evaluate technical submittals, method statements, and commissioning strategies.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, coordination, and technical writing skills.
  • Certification in airport planning or ICAO-standard compliance (e.g., ACI, IES).
  • Experience in Middle East aviation or airbase projects.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, AviPLAN, or similar airfield planning tools.
  • Fluency in Arabic is a plus.
