In this role, you’ll champion, lead, and inspire an award-winning multidisciplinary creative team—comprised of design, multimedia, writing, photo, video, and print production professionals—and empower them to bring to life next-level creative outputs that align with our brand vision and business objectives.
Simply put, we’re looking for an innovative leader who fosters a people-first, collaborative, forward-looking, and “get to yes” team culture. We can’t wait to meet you.

What You'll Be Doing:

People Management

  • Leads, develops, and empowers a creative team that generates compelling deliverables in support of winning new business (e.g., proposals, presentations, leave-behinds, and other collateral).
  • Supervises the work of professional and managerial employees; mentors team members at all levels to support their professional development, and regularly conducts one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and skip-level sessions.
  • Attracts top talent through hiring, onboarding, and retaining employees; fosters an innovative and forward-looking environment that promotes cross-functional collaboration, teamwork, exceptional customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Empowers the team to bring forward new ideas and creative approaches, continuously raising the bar with each deliverable.
  • Develops and implements strategies to keep employees engaged and motivated, with a focus on supporting a healthy work-life balance and recognizing and rewarding their contributions and achievements.
  • Plays an active role in managing a large team budget, considering overhead initiatives and billable assignments; proactively manages scope, budget, and resource allocation across multiple efforts.

 Partnership and Resourcing

  • Builds and maintains close relationships across the enterprise to assess business needs and priorities, continuously identifying and implementing improvement opportunities as well as promoting EPO’s value proposition.
  • Drives business strategies and team initiatives that foster growth and cross-sector synergies, improve win rates, fuel innovation, and introduce efficiencies.
  • Works closely with EPO leadership to evaluate creative resource needs to support pipeline growth; determines the resources required to achieve goals and directs efforts to acquire and retain those resources; diplomatically troubleshoots any issues that may arise.
  • Supports the Proposal Operations Director/Vice President with the development and reporting of key proposal business metrics, reports, and other deliverables as needed.

In-the-Trenches Support/Creative Excellence

  • Serves as a creative subject matter expert and advisor on focus and must-win pursuits, providing in-the-trenches support as needed to drive successful outcomes.
  • Communicates and collaborates with internal leadership and stakeholders to understand their needs, influencing creative direction and strategy to align with business objectives.
  • Provides clear direction and constructive feedback to teams, ensuring work meets our high standards and aligns with our brand's identity and objectives; ensures consistency and coherence in visual elements across all media and platforms.
  • Incorporates cutting-edge techniques and technologies to enhance the creative process and output, staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Leads strategy-driven workshops, such as Creative Labs, solutioning sessions, and other collaborative workshops, to uncover innovative approaches that will differentiate our deliverables from competitors and resonate with our clients/customers.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • U.S. Citizen required
  • 12+ years of related work experience, including leading, coaching, and managing multidisciplinary creative teams toward a shared goal of consistent growth and innovation.
  • Degree in relevant field (or equivalent); expert in their field, with advanced knowledge of design and creative strategies and solutions across all mediums.
  • Proven ability to present strategic creative solutions to a range of audiences and feel comfortable influencing others when appropriate.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement; embraces change, pushes through setbacks, seeks feedback, and is motivated by team success.
  • Ability and willingness to travel ~15% of the year

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
