Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Temporary Works Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to To co-ordinate and audit the contractor’s Temporary Works (construction methodologies) in submittal and execution stages in order to meet quality, safety standards and delivery dates across Construction Projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
Assist, support, and monitor the implementation of the temporary works / construction methodology strategy on site.
Review the Contractors Design Briefs and Temporary Works / Construction Methodology drawings to ensure fit for purpose. Obtain engineering review and approval.
Audit site installation, Identify and report on discrepancies from original design drawings or approved shop drawings including but not limited to: Shoring shop drawings for beams and slabs, back propping drawings and design notes for slabs and beams, Wall formwork and columns shop drawing, Façade scaffolding shop drawings, design notes.
Review all Temporary workshop drawings and design notes for the most high risk temporary works elements and make sure they are approved by an outsourced professional Engineering team i.e. Tower Crane Bases, etc.
Analyze all lifting plans regarding installation and dismantling sequences of shoring, scaffolding, formwork, and heavy equipment i.e. erection and dismantling methods of tower cranes
Review all Civil, steel structures, facades, and temporary work method statements submitted by all contractors and their subcontractors
Ensure that contractors site installations are properly and safely designed to accommodate logistics traffics, lay down areas, people path, equipment temporary roads, offices, welfares, warehouse in coordination with logistics team.Develop a close working relationship with the contractor. Provide technical guidance in the interpretation of specifications. Review job plans, methods, equipment, staffing and productivity and detect potential problems in conforming to established schedules or specifications. Review problems with the contractor to determine whether actions proposed are adequate for resolution.
Ensure that Temporary Works Procedures and Construction Methods standards are maintained and communicated to contractors.
Coordination with the Department construction team & HSE staff across all projects
Assist in coordinating the compilation of relevant documentation and the determination of actual events and situations causing contract delays and/or claims and in evaluating the validity of claims.
Mentor Construction Department staff in the Department (& the Contractors staff as required) in the management of Temporary Works and to new field construction methods specialty.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 20 years of construction supervision experience
At least 8 years of experience in the supervision temporary works supervision/coordination and development of Construction Methodology Strategies on site
Working knowledge of deep excavation support works, concrete formwork & falsework, high rise building construction methodologies, traffic management, site logistics and lifting operations
Must be fluent and able to effectively communicate in both spoken and written English Language.
Knowledge of computers and basic software applications: MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), read construction schedules (Primavera).
