Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Systems Engineer Team Lead with Software Engineering experience to guide and manage teams responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of integrated systems. This role requires a blend of systems engineering expertise and hands-on software engineering experience to deliver complex, scalable, and secure solutions. The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience, deep technical knowledge, and a passion for innovation to drive both system-level and software solutions for our organization.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead, mentor, and oversee a multidisciplinary team of systems and software engineers.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the team.
- Assign tasks and projects, ensuring that engineers are engaged and performing at their highest potential.
- Architect and design complex systems that meet the functional and non-functional requirements of stakeholders.
- Collaborate with software engineers to develop software solutions integrated with system architecture.
- Ensure systems are scalable, secure, reliable, and optimized for performance across various environments.
- Lead the design and implementation of software applications and tools that enhance system functionality.
- Collaborate with software developers to ensure smooth integration between systems and applications.
- Drive end-to-end system development from concept to deployment, including system testing, validation, and documentation.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables for both systems and software engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between system architecture, software development, and business objectives.
- Implement Agile methodologies to manage team workloads and improve project execution efficiency.
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role.
- Proven software engineering experience, including hands-on coding in languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar.
- Strong background in systems design, architecture, and integration with software solutions.
- Experience with software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.) and SDLC processes.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.), virtualization technologies, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
What You Need to Have:
- A bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 15 years of work-related experience.
- A master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of work-related experience.
- In lieu of a STEM degree bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 20 years of work-related experience is required.
- TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Desired Skills
- Experience with microservices architecture, API development, and software frameworks.
- Certification in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP) or software development (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Certified ScrumMaster).
- Experience with database management systems (SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling.
- Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO) and best practices for system and software security.
