Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Sustainability & Environmental Director to join our team! In this role you will get to contribute to the sustainability and environmental strategies for the delivery of challenging high-quality infrastructure and masterplan projects. As the sustainability practice lead you will provide management and leadership across the MENA+ region with a focus on sustainability efforts and best practices for both large projects, major programs, and initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing:
Participate in and promote Parsons Sustainability Core Value.
Support complex project teams which require sustainability evaluation and environmental compliance, from conception to project completion.
Work closely with project owners, developers, design teams and project managers to achieve sustainability objectives in the design and planning process.
Assist in starting up major programs and develop sustainability strategies tailored for each project’s aspirations and requirements.
Guide project teams during planning, design development, tendering and construction supervision to enable achievement of projects sustainability and environmental goals.
Support the implementation of different sustainability rating systems such as LEED, Estidama, Mustadam, Envision, etc.…
Develop technical reports and studies for sustainability certification and environmental documentation as part of project deliverables.
Assist in the recruitment, interviews, and evaluation of prospective employees within the sustainability discipline.
Support pre-contract and business development efforts as required, serving as technical consultant on projects with a sustainability and environmental components.
Prepare RFPs to appoint the most suitable sub-consultants for any given project.
Assess and manage the appointed sub-consultants and review their S&E studies.
Monitor the quality and progress of the sustainability focused work for projects across the MENA+ region.
Present to clients on technical aspects and assists in relevant project approvals.
Monitor and stay engaged with all changing concepts involving sustainability and how it affects the AEC industry as a whole.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree or above in environmental sciences, engineering, planning, or related design disciplines.
Work experience of minimum 15 years in an international engineering consultancy and project management or sustainability consultancy.
Documented participation in the preparation of a third-party sustainability certification application (e.g., LEED, Envision, Estidama), including at least two (2) completed, certified projects.
In depth knowledge of the latest trends in the sustainability field
Detail oriented, well-organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team, on multiple large-scale projects in parallel.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Master’s degree or above in environmental sciences, engineering, planning, or related design disciplines.
Experience in coordinating with diverse individuals and teams including client, consultant, contractor, design, and construction members to enable achievement of project sustainability objectives and targets.
Bring a clear understanding of global good sustainability consultancy practices and delivery of projects that include bespoke sustainability advice.
