Job Description:

Senior MEP Delivery & Commissioning Manager Scope of Work


The Senior MEP Delivery & Commissioning Manager is responsible for managing the onsite MEP activities including the Testing & commissioning, maintain contact with stakeholders and have a close knowledge of project requirements for commissioning and testing, manage the resolution of site issues, coordinate and liaise with the designers, consultants, contractors and stake holders through meetings, project procedures and reports. Support various Project Managers and the Contracts department to reduce the backlog of outstanding coordination issues, and variation instructions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1.    Coordination and Communication:

  • Liaise between commissioning authority, contractors, commissioning specialists, and other relevant parties to ensure seamless communication and coordination.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for MEP-related matters, facilitating discussions, and resolving conflicts when necessary.

2.    Commissioning Oversight:

  • Collaborate with commissioning authorities and commissioning specialists to ensure MEP systems align with project specifications, regulatory standards, and quality benchmarks.

  • Oversee the commissioning process, ensuring timely execution, documentation, and resolution of issues.

3.    Construction Phase Support:

  • Collaborate closely with the construction manager to monitor MEP installation progress, identify potential challenges, and ensure adherence to project schedules.

  • Conduct regular inspections to verify MEP installations comply with design plans and quality standards.

4.    Handover and Transition:

  • Facilitate the handover process by ensuring MEP systems are fully operational, documented, and meet the requirements outlined in the project scope.

  • Coordinate with relevant teams to prepare necessary documentation for client handover and provide necessary training or support for system operation.

  • Review & approve related handing over plans & documentations.

5.    Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Conduct periodic quality assessments and audits to ensure MEP installations meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and project specifications.

  • Implement corrective actions as needed to address deficiencies and maintain quality throughout the project lifecycle.

6.    Project Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of MEP-related activities, including progress reports, issues, resolutions, and commissioning documentation.

  • Prepare regular status reports for project stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and mitigation strategies.

7.    Risk Management and Problem Resolution:

  • Proactively identify risks related to MEP systems, develop mitigation plans, and communicate potential issues to stakeholders.

  • Resolve conflicts or disputes related to MEP installations, collaborating with relevant parties to find feasible solutions.

8.    Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with industry best practices, technological advancements, and relevant regulations pertaining to MEP systems.

  • Propose and implement innovative approaches to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness in MEP installations.

  • This role requires strong leadership, communication, and technical expertise in MEP systems, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders throughout the construction and commissioning phases.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related subject.

  • A minimum of 20 years of experience working within the industry.

  • A minimum of 15 years on infrastructure and civils projects.

  • At least 10 years experience of working in Middle East.

  • Professional Registration (PE or PMP) is a significant advantage.

  • In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
