Job Description:

We are seeking an accomplished Production Manager to establish and lead the production of specialized RF systems for mission-critical applications in aerospace and defense. This role is pivotal in driving efficiency, quality, and timely delivery while standing up a new manufacturing capability to support strategic goals across several programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Leadership: Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of RF system manufacturing operations, ensuring quality and repeatable processes.
  • Capability Development: Develop and implement work instructions, processes, and procedures to enable reproducibility and compliance with stringent aerospace and defense standards.
  • Program Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs) and support customer milestones.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive schedule adherence, cost management, and alignment with mission requirements to meet or exceed customer-driven delivery objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor quality metrics, lead root cause analysis, and coordinate with engineering and production teams to resolve issues and ensure compliance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a primary interface with internal teams, clients, and suppliers, providing updates, resolving issues, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to enhance production workflows, minimize downtime, and streamline processes.
  • Sustainment and Field Support: Oversee sustainment activities, including Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes, sparing strategies, and field support to ensure minimal downtime, efficient repair cycles, and continued mission readiness for deployed systems.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven ability to lead manufacturing operations for complex, multi-variant builds in aerospace and defense.
  • Expertise in developing processes for first-time quality and optimizing workflows to achieve cost and schedule targets.
  • Strong project management skills, including work package planning, scheduling, and coordination with engineering development and quality teams.
  • Effective communicator with demonstrated success in interfacing with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with JIRA or similar tools, production acceptance testing, and managing engineering changes (ECNs, BOM updates, and CCB participation).
  • Knowledge of production systems, including hardware integration, and material planning.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, production management, or engineering within aerospace and defense.
  • Proven success in leading multi-functional teams to achieve production milestones and deliverables.
  • Familiarity with RF systems manufacturing and their unique technical requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex programs with budgets exceeding $25 million.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office, JIRA, and MRP systems.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Hands-on experience in standing up new production capabilities and scaling operations for aerospace and defense applications.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance systems and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Direct involvement in PRRs, milestone tracking, and other production-oriented initiatives

Salary Range: 

$126,600.00 - $227,900.00
