Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Engineer (Corrosion Control) to join our team! In this role you will get to lead the development and implementation of effective corrosion control strategies across our operations. This position plays a critical role in protecting assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and minimizing risks associated with corrosion.
Reports directly to the Manager of the Engineering Department and requires regular interaction with representatives from a variety of functional groups including other departments within Technical Affairs Division, and other internal or external stakeholders as required.
What You'll Be Doing:
Develop and implement comprehensive corrosion control programs for various assets, including pipelines, facilities, and infrastructure.
Conduct corrosion risk assessments, surveys, and inspections to identify potential problems and recommend mitigation strategies.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in corrosion control technologies and materials, and evaluate their applicability to our operations.
Design and oversee the installation of corrosion control systems, including cathodic protection, coatings, and inhibitors.
Monitor and analyze corrosion data to assess the effectiveness of control measures and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance, to ensure consistent implementation of corrosion control practices.
Develop and deliver technical presentations and training programs on corrosion control to colleagues and stakeholders.
Prepare and manage budgets for corrosion control activities.
Maintain accurate and complete records of corrosion control activities and data.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of corrosion control programs.
Participate in the development and implementation of company-wide corrosion control policies and procedures.
Represent the company on corrosion-related committees and industry forums.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial corrosion control, with a proven track record of success.
In-depth knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, materials selection, and mitigation strategies.
Experience with various corrosion control technologies, including coatings, cathodic protection, and corrosion inhibitors.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, NACE DataView).
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., NACE, API).
