Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Cost Estimator to join our team!
Yanbu is a great location on the West (Red Sea) Coast of Saudi Arabia with excellent retail, leisure, healthcare facilities. It is a rapidly growing city and as part of the Saudi 2030 Vision, is a key part of the expansion of KSA.
Based in the Project Management Department, this is a key role which will require the accurate estimation of cost, time, materials, labor and equipment across the various projects. In this role you will perform cost analyses, determine the durations of projects, support in the procurement of vendors and subcontractors and ensure that resources are allocated and managed.
What You'll Be Doing:
Determining the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labour for construction projects.
Conducts initial analysis of drawings and specifications to ensure required documentation is present and determine scope of work.
Develop full-scope estimates based on Procurement & Construction or Engineering, Procurement & Construction documents.
Preparing estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work.
Support the Bid Evaluation Team to critically analyze bid documents and understand risk and opportunities and articulate those to management.
Participate in technical proposals for Alternative Delivery projects.
Researching construction documents and analyzing specifications.
Provide detailed quantity take off of specific trades when required.
Solicits and analyzes subcontractor and vendor pricing input when required.
Attends project site pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews as required.
Develops unit costs accurately.
Performs technical / plan review when required.
Accurately assesses and plans takeoff workload.
Gathers and monitors actual cost vs. estimated cost, maintaining project cost history.
Manage and maintain Contractor & Subcontractor database and subcontractor prequalification.
Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, Contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.
Regularly reporting to Management and keeping clients updated on the project status.
Formulating contingency plans and effectively managing risks that might impact cost and time estimates.
Keeping track of the latest estimating technology and industry-related techniques.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
DUE TO THE REQUIRMENTS ON THIS PROGRAM ONLY APPLICANTS WITH BILINGUAL FLUENCY ACROSS ENGLISH AND ARABIC WILL BE CONSIDERED.
FURTHERMORE ONLY BACHELORS DEGREE QUALIFIED APPLICANTS IN QUANTITY SURVEYING / CIVIL ENGINEERING / RELATED DISCIPLINE WILL BE CONSIDERED.
Am minimum of 10 years post graduate experience in QS / Estimating.
Able to manage multiple projects concurrently with ability to multitask.
Knowledge and efficiency in the following Software: Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook), AutoCAD 3D, Take-off / Estimating Software.
Strong computer skills including the ability to use estimating software, spread sheets, bid management, online plan rooms and database applications.
Possess good organizational skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.
Resourceful and diligent in seeking solutions to problems and adapting to new situations.
Ability to closely collaborate with other project teams and stakeholders.
Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills.
Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.
