Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented MMRP Site Lead to join our team! In this role you will get to lead/manage geophysical field teams collecting DGM or AGC data, performing anomaly reacquisition, or collecting post-intrusive verification data, and collect DGM or AGC data using a variety of geophysical sensors and GPS equipment. The candidate will also lead/oversee UXO field teams as a site manager for operations, including safety escort, surface sweep/clearance, intrusive investigation, and handling/management of MEC/MPPEH.  These roles involve coordination with project personnel, clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors, management of field equipment, documentation and reporting associated with field operations, QC of field data, and may include initial processing of geophysical data.  The position requires 90 -100% field work and travel.  Other assignments may involve designing, building, or maintaining equipment, document preparation, and proposal support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads / manages geophysical field teams collecting DGM, AGC, anomaly reacquisition, and post-intrusive verification data

Collects DGM and AGC data using a variety of sensors and GPS equipment

Leads / oversees UXO field teams as a site manager for operations including safety escort, surface sweep/clearance, intrusive investigation, and handling / management of MEC/MPPEH

Coordinates mobilization, demobilization, and onsite activities with project personnel, clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors

Performs initial site setup including establishing site survey control, identifying access points and limitations, constructing Instrument Validation Strips, and placing blind seeds

Maintains and manages field equipment including geophysical sensors, survey instruments, and project vehicles

Designs, builds, and maintains equipment including batteries, packs, function test items, and geophysical sensor platforms (towed arrays, liter)

Conducts QC of field data including field logs, survey data, surface clearance results, and intrusive investigation results

Reports on field operations including daily site reports, QC reports, and safety reports

Performs initial processing of geophysical data and coordinate with data processors/GIS staff to track progress and document site conditions

Temporarily stands in (as qualified) for any of the following positions: Geophysical Team Lead, UXOSO, UXOQCS, UXO Team Lead, UXO Tech II

Supports non-MMRP field activities including water / soil sampling, non-MMRP geophysical surveys, construction, and UAS drone surveys

Supports technical approach development and cost estimates for proposals when not in the field

RELATIONSHIPS:

Supervision Received - Project Managers; Higher-level Scientists; Project Engineers/Geophysicists

Supervision Given - Lower-level Scientists and Technicians (technical direction only)

Internal Contacts - All Employees on Project

External Contacts - Clients; Suppliers; Regulatory Agencies

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

8+ years of related work experience.

US Citizenship or Permanent Residence (may need to access US Military Installations)

Qualified as UXO Tech III or higher, or 4 year degree in geophysics or related field

Experience managing munitions response field teams and/or sites

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Qualified as a UXOSO or Site Safety Officer

UAS Pilot

Certified heavy equipment operator

Previous experience designing / building field equipment

Salary Range: 

$70,500.00 - $123,400.00
