Currently, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager - Geotechnical (Dewatering) to join our team in supporting our client in the delivery of a state-of-the-art opera house.

The Geotechnical Manager specializes in analyzing soil, rock, groundwater, and other earth materials to ensure the foundation and structural support systems of the project are designed for stability and longevity. Especially, in the case of the Opera House which is very near to the sea and requires special care with regards to the excavations and the construction of the basements and the foundations of the building. This role involves supervising the Contractor’s site investigations, the dewatering system, developing and/or reviewing Contractor’s geotechnical reports, and providing recommendations to the Client for foundation design, earthworks, and any necessary soil improvements. • Design efficient dewatering systems, including wellpoint systems, deep well systems, and other appropriate techniques, to control groundwater levels and maintain stable working conditions throughout the construction process.
  • Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to execute dewatering activities according to project timelines and specifications and provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Implement monitoring protocols to continuously assess dewatering effectiveness and mitigate any emerging issues promptly.
  • Identify potential risks related to dewatering operations and develop proactive measures to mitigate these risks and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges and minimize disruptions to the construction schedule.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication channels with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and regulatory agencies and provide regular progress reports and updates on dewatering activities, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on dewatering and groundwater control and with minimum 5 years experience in GCC (KSA experience ideally).
  • Proven track record of successfully managing dewatering projects for large-scale construction or infrastructure developments.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, groundwater hydrology, and dewatering techniques.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools for geotechnical analysis and design.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and environmental considerations related to dewatering operations.
