Position Overview:

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Expediting Specialist to join our team for a large-scale infrastructure construction project. The Expediting Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of materials and equipment required for the project, while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with project specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the procurement team to develop and implement expediting strategies to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.

• Monitor and track the status of purchase orders, shipments, and deliveries to identify potential delays and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.

• Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and logistics providers to expedite orders and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and site personnel, to provide updates on procurement status and address any concerns.

• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess inventory levels, monitor progress, and identify any potential bottlenecks in the procurement process.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to procurement activities, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance evaluations.

• Evaluate supplier performance based on key metrics such as delivery timeliness, quality, and responsiveness, and provide feedback to the procurement team for continuous improvement.

• Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost savings through streamlining procurement workflows and negotiating favorable terms with suppliers.

• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to procurement and logistics to ensure compliance and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in procurement, expediting, or logistics roles, preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry and a minimum of 10 years' experience in GCC (KSA Ideally)

• Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management principles, and logistics operations.

• Proficiency in using procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

• Willingness to travel to project sites and suppliers' facilities as needed.

• Certifications such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are a plus.
