Position Overview:
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Expediting Specialist to join our team for a large-scale infrastructure construction project. The Expediting Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of materials and equipment required for the project, while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with project specifications.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the procurement team to develop and implement expediting strategies to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Monitor and track the status of purchase orders, shipments, and deliveries to identify potential delays and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.
Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and logistics providers to expedite orders and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and site personnel, to provide updates on procurement status and address any concerns.
Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess inventory levels, monitor progress, and identify any potential bottlenecks in the procurement process.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to procurement activities, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance evaluations.
Evaluate supplier performance based on key metrics such as delivery timeliness, quality, and responsiveness, and provide feedback to the procurement team for continuous improvement.
Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost savings through streamlining procurement workflows and negotiating favorable terms with suppliers.
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to procurement and logistics to ensure compliance and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in procurement, expediting, or logistics roles, preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry and a minimum of 10 years' experience in GCC (KSA Ideally)
Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management principles, and logistics operations.
Proficiency in using procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Willingness to travel to project sites and suppliers' facilities as needed.
Certifications such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are a plus.
