Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Inspector O&M - Civil to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee the daily routine operations and maintenance works by the O&M Contractors at site.
What You'll Be Doing
Responsible for conducting field inspections, tests, evaluations, verifications, and documentation of the O&M Contractor’s inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance within all civil systems including roads, roadway signage, beach maintenance and cleaning, security gates and logistics, plant nursery maintenance, pedestrian bridge, closed canal maintenance.
Supports the landscape, electrical and mechanical inspectors with all civil support inspection activities at site.
Oversees the daily routine operations and maintenance works by the O&M Contractors at site and identifies any issues or required works.
Prepares various inspection reports, progress Reports and other site records as required within the Contract or as required by the Client or PMC staff
Ensure that all construction, operations and maintenance works related to civil and structural works are performed in strict accordance with the plans and specifications.
Maintain a detailed diary of the day’s work activities, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labour and equipment used, etc. and sign at the end of each day as directed by the ARE.
Interface with the public and stake holders adjacent to the work to mitigate the construction impacts.
Coordinate with the Contractor in charge of the work daily to monitor on the performance and proper execution of the work.
Report questionable methods of operation by the Contractor to the ARE or to the Resident Engineer.
Report to ARE or RE any failure of the Contractor to perform the work as per the drawings and specifications and to provide good workmanship.
Process the Inspection Requests and maintain records of their status.
Maintain detailed records of work performed by the contractor in case the work is performed on a Day Works basis.
Act in a professional way but firm in dealings with the Contractor.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University
Minimum 7 years of experience in all aspects of civil supervision of road and general infrastructure projects, including operation and maintenance, preferably in GCC.
Must have sound knowledge about contractual relationships.
Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software (ERP, ACONEX, CMMS etc.).
Ability to read and interpret drawings and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction related processes related to area of assignment.
Prior experience working on large scale infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi will be a significant advantage.
Excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills in English.
Valid UAE Driving License will be a plus.
